As usual I'm the slow s'poke' ...

There sure are some busy folks in this group! And excellent work too!

I am not as deep in the chips as some folks but my present projects are
3 fish decoys that are fast becoming a bit more than a 'smoothie with
paint'
as I got carried away with the euphoria of working with the wood again! The
fish, which still have to be finished are a Walleye and a Rainbow and a
Brook
Trout, will all be hand painted and then have copper fins attached.

BTW the eyes are recycled from old stuffed toys found local 2nd hand
shops for pennies. The variety of stuffed animals gives a lot of choice
in size, colour and effects... and tearing the eyes out of the old toys is
one heck of a stress reliever!!! :) Does a body good to rip the eyes out
of a teddy bear. :) :)

I've also been working on some bone carvings. The material is a bit harder
than most woods and most of the carving is being done with needle files
after a intial 'roughing in' with a Dremel. To finish the bone I've just
polished the surface using the Dremel with a buffer tip coated with
the Yellowstone honing compound. Afterwards you'd be hard put to tell the
difference between the bone and ivory!

"It's not unusual."
