Hi Hugh,
Bob and I will not be coming to Honesdale sad to say. Sorry we'll miss you
and Jan and the rest of the bunch. It sure was great visiting with you at
Evart.
Bob and I are heading for Ivan's class next week. This is a retreat I would
recommend for anyone. I am looking forward to spending time with some great
people and pretty fair carvers. hehehehe
Over the last few years Ivan has been helping me with the human form in the
round. This year my study is adding a shepherd and sheep to the nativity set
in our church. Our class plan, as I understand it, is to work the figure in
clay first and than do it in wood. Because the final figure is to big for
making the clay the same size I'm doing the clay at half scale. I'm ready
for the class and my excitement is growing. I've got the block of basswood
glued, my ball of clay ready to go and using photos of myself (which are
really in the ROUND) for the model. One fat shepherd coming up.
