[Woodcarver] ??? on American Indians

Good morning!
   This is for all you American Indian carvers or anyone eles with an 
opinion<BG>!  Did Indians braid their hair with 3 strands or just twist/wrap 
it with only 2 strands?  A friend carved a cane this summer and wanted to 
braid his hair - boy was that hard - he was beginning to think about not 
doing that part after all! - I kept thinking it wasn't done with 3 strands 
but wrapped with only 2.  This might be easier to carve than 3.  After 
looking at several sites,  trying it for myself and thinking about it a lot 
I decided to go to the experts!  So what do you think - 2 or 3?  Thanks for 
you information!
