Maura,
Thanks for the pictures. Everybody make sure to check out the carved , gold leaf acanthus leaves on Ray's "axe".

It was great meeting you in person... sad you had to leave early though. The jam session was fun and I got to play the flute solo a couple times (after they signed the release forms). I'm inspired to make a flute that's in tuned with the group and learn to play some real music instead of just improv. What do you think Sandy?... key of "D"?

I was in awe watching Sandy play the hammer dulcimer and shift keys at will like she does.

Had a FANTASTIC time at the NEWR... already looking forward to next year.

Keep on Carvin'

the list must be so quiet because everyone is in honesdale at the northeast woodcarvers roundup. I just got back, a day early because a friend who came with me had to work today.
so i figured i would give an early report. this is the first roundup that i have ever attended. boy did i have a great time. i met some mighty fine people and some fantastic carvers. I took some great classes and this no-it-all actually learned a thing or two. Many thanks to George and his wife for organizing the whole thing. my thanks to sandie of sandies Cafe for the wonderful warm welcome and for allowing me to listen in on the jam. I'm not sure if it was a record but there were 16 people comfortably in the RV. I have posted some pics on my picture site, but there were many more people who i didn't get pics of, that i really enjoyed meeting, among those were sandie of the cafe, hugh "skincarp" from canada, Dave, carvin' jack miller, the o'dea brothers, jim and pat, Merrilee and her friend whos name I can't recall, and many many others. Thanks for the great time. Hoping i can come to next years roundup. it was great.
