using a 4 inch piece of 1/4 inch redi=rod works also....drill the joining
ends with 1/4 drill to 2 1/8 inches deep....wipe drilled holes with 
watered cotton swab,.....lightly coat one end of redi-rod with gorilla
glue....drop into hole.....lightly coat the exposed end of the redi-rod
with gorilla...slip the other rod onto the redi-rod.....thats it.....sand
after glue has set......i used a 1/4 forester drill bit so that it would
not drift off center......Good Luck
