I retired in 1990 with the job title of 'Master Craftsman'. To qualify I
had to have a current state licence as: an electrician, and as a
pipe-fitter,
and either 'Fire Protection' or HVAC. The pay was good so I didn't care
what title they gave me.
If someone is looking for a title, check into your state programs. Here
in NH they have 'The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen'
http://www.nhcrafts.org/
There is a state-juried selection process & if you're approved you can
always say, "I'm a member of The NH League of Craftsmen". Sounds
impressive, huh? They contacted me at a County Fair & asked if I
was interested & I said, "No".
