I have been with this list a couple of years and posted a couple of times in
the past. I do read the post and I love to check out the carving that are
done. With that said , We are not in Europe, we are in the USA. Bill
,Reddog,Joe,Ivan and more that I did not name , You are masters at what you
do. Each of you do your carvings with your own style , With your own artist
style and methods. You have mastered your craft. In Europe the
apprenticeship programs teach the students to carve the way the master does,
The methods, style, everything that master says to do. No personal touches
only what the master teaches. Here in the U.S we express ourselves in our
work. You guys and ladies don't need a paper on the wall to say that you are
masters. With the work I seen done ,if I were you I would be proud to label
myself as a MASTER.

Hi Rick
Thanks for your kind words. However I've got to let everyone know that I've
learned more from Ivan in the past 3 or 4 years that I've been taking his
classes than almost the whole 30-years in business. Every class shows a
marked improvement in my work. I just want to let you know that and thank
Ivan for the learning opportunity he's given me and our carving community.
My wonderful wife is very understanding about me spending our 40th
anniversary, next month, in Ivan's class.

If you have the chance to take a class from someone like Ivan, you should.
