Hi Loren,

I met your wife when we were both in Invan's class, I think a couple of
years ago, the class you carved a spirit face on one of my chips for me. I
still have that chip hanging in my shop.

My wife was thinking about going but decided not to because she wants to
visit some of her old friends. Bob Mau (you also know him on this List as
Basswood) is also taking the class. Bob is president of our carving club.
Larry Greiter, another member of our club, took Ivan's class about a month
ago. Larry gave our club a great talk about what he learned in Ivan's class
as he passed arround his class project.

I'm looking forward to getting out of here this week to Evart and next month
to Ivans. Politics have taken a sour turn here for me. The Business
Association, who didn't want to take time to participate in helping us
develop the comprehensive plan for our village, are not too happy with the
outcome. They've got the village in a stir with signs all over town. There
were difficult decisions that had to be made and now I find it necessary to
defind the plan and the process of how it came from our local residents,
school board and other organizations. This time away will allow the rope
burns on my neck to heal. Some times I wonder why anyone would want to run
for public office.
