[Woodcarver] Question about diamond powder

Hi Steve,
How about considering making a hard hone instead of a soft strop with a
paste compound?
That diamond powder can be rolled into a copper surface. If you use a hard
roller the soft copper will grab and hold the diamond in place. If you go to
the hardware store and buy a short piece, 6-inch long, of 6-inch copper pipe
that would make a great honing wheel. Mount the pipe on a wooden center and
hone your tools. The copper would maybe only need to recharded with more
diamond powder about once a month.

> Hey listers....I have 3000 grit diamond powder that I want to use on my
strop and or cardboard (ala Ellenwood Arts) for honing. Can anyone tell me
if there is a household medium that can be used to make a past of the
diamond powder that isn't expensive?
