I hesitatingly post this question to the list because it might be too
involved to discuss via email.
We walked into Joe's discussion at the Roundup in the middle of his
explanation/discussion of phi. The part we heard was so fascinating we
would like to know more. This same topic surfaced at our club the
following Wed. when a member was in another class at the Roundup and
"phi" was mentioned in that class. (It was not Joe's class). That
instructor stated that when someone understands the "phi" principal he
would never need to use another book. I suppose there should be more
to that sentence but I don't know what.
Also, is phi pronounced "fi" or "pie?" Are those two separate
measurements?
Is there a book where we could read about this so as to understand the
principal or theory of phi. I suppose it is a principal and not a
theory. I'm afraid I'm showing my ignorance here. I don't even know
what to call it.
I understand it is used in layout design. Is that correct?
Thanks for any information concerning this. I will share it with our
club as well.
Sally
