> Hello All,
>
> First may I appoligize for what may end up looking like a crosspost when
the day is done. But, in a desparate plea, I need to ask something of all
the fine woodworkers/woodcarvers in the list I know most of us subscribe
to... And to the point. I was hospitalized recently due to my recurring
heart problems, which ate up all my funds (from income tax) that were
supposed to be for moving to Tennessee, and purchasing some hand, and power
tools. So now I am left with no access to a "real" cabinetmakers shop, and
junk tools that were purchased from Ben Franklyns as a gift. So I am stuck
sitting around the house with no capacity to even try and improve my carving
skills. I am just wondering if some of us may have "better" (better than I
am attempting to use) quality tools that they might not want due to their
inferior quality to your favored tools. I am really trying not to insult
you fine crafts people who work hard sometimes even at a day job that has
little or anything to
> do with
> our mutual passion for cutting, chipping, and carving wood into beautiful
works, but with my primary income to cover my bills coming from a measily
sum offered to me by Social Security, and my wife has a hard time holding
down a job that will allow her to take the time off when I am hospitalized
(since I am the only available babysitter). It is so hard to ask this sort
of thing since I know how hard you all have to work to have time to enjoy
our artistry, and acquire tools, and such, but I know no other way to get on
my feet at this time since carving has been very thereputic. Even if
someone wished to drop 2 or 5 dollars, maybe I can bundle it together, and
actually buy a reasonable set of tools like one of the flexcut travelling
sets, or the warren tools travelling set and the like, since either of those
would be a galactic leap above what I currently use (a $10 set that came
from Ben Franklyns, and a set of 6 Stanley chisels for carpentry, and my old
rubber mallet).
