Mike:
I carve lots of faces. That one took just about an hour, more or less.
When I first started carving them it would have taken me about 4 hours or
so. I'm doing a beginning carving class at our local Vo-Tech school and we
have been carving a face in the corner of a 1.5" x 1.5" block. We finished
it last night and spent a total of 6 hours in class carving it. Hope this
will help answer your daughter's question.
Take care.
Loren
