[Woodcarver] Woodcarving Whatzit?

Ok....here goes.....my best fuzzy headed guess....as I don't want anyone to 
feel that I am prolonging this...L0L

Would it be a FROE....used to make barrel staves (sp)........before they 
have the edges carved to shape?

So each piece is the same thickness.
