The flexcut 5 peice travel set was one of my first woodcarving purchases.  
Over time I have bought more blades and a few more handles as well.  For the 
price, I think that they are excellent tools for the beginner or intermediate.  
they come presharpened (and i mean sharp) which is a really big plus.  they are 
convienent to carry in their tool roll.  I also hear that the company stands 
by their product and will replace anything that you have a problem with.  Over 
all I'd give the flexcuts kit an A.  They would have gotten an A+ except that 
it is a pain to have to keep changing the blades when you need them, thats 
why i bought some extra handles.
