I just did a relief in poplur but am really wanting to go back to bass
after it was done or before it was done.

Just wanted to say thank you for the help the woodcarver-listers offered
last
week identifying my new (old) eBay carving tools. I think and hope I replied
privately to everybody who helped, but if I didn't please consider yourself
thanked now.
Special kudos go to Vic H., who identified every single brand of tool --
even
a brand that was sold only via one store and hasn't been marketed in years
(Sculpture Associates) and another (Henkel) who is known now only for making
kitchen knives. I'm impressed!
Now, if anybody could recommend the best sharpening and maintenance tools
...
And any idea what garden-variety lumberyard wood is best for fooling around
with (for relief carving) until I can get some basswood?
Thanks again!
Emily
