I can't remember exactly how I came across the SSW finish.
I know that my Dad used sanding sealer to finish some of his
woodworking projects. And I remember being displeased with a number of
oil finishes that I used early on.
I recall trying the sanding sealer out one time. It dried kinda funny,
leaving some spots shiny and others dull. I had to rub the surface with
fine steel wool to smooth it out. And wax was the only way to restore
the shine.
Voilá! Eureka!
It really IS an EXCELLENT finish, isn't it!!
