Hi Everyone,
I know I don't post much to the list but keep up with everything on a daily
basis and enjoy all the information and comments.
I am hoping someone can help me find a pattern to use. Every year at our
Wood Carvers Roundup in June (see website below) we like to give each carver
some kind of a free carving blank w/pattern. These blanks are for everyone
but also intended for the new carver so they at least would have something
to start out with and practice on. Over the years we have used the cowboy
boot, shelf mouse, beaver, little bird and a turtle. This year we are giving
a 10" long by 1-1/4" square basswood blank to carve a totem pole. They are
to bring it back either to the Spit & Whittle in Sept and/or to the Roundup
next year for a people choice award. Or they can carve it a the Roundup.
Does anyone have a simple pattern they would like to share that we could
include with the blank? It doesn't have to be anything special, just
something someone could get started with as to what to do with the blank.
Any help would be appreciated. If you get a chance and are in the area in
June be sure and stop by. I know quite a few from the list are already
planning to attend. Some of you are already volunteering to graciously
teaching workshops which we are very thankful and appreciative of.
