Whitler writes in part 
i once had an attachment that would remove all the fuzzy pieces of wood on a  finished carvings, it would attach to a drill or power motor...It had sanding flaps all around it cut into strips

What I use is SCOTBRITE  pad #416 and pad # 7440
I cut a strip off about 11/2 inch wide fold like an S make a hole with a screwdryver in the center and use a Mandrel whit a long 1/4 screw 
Works wonders
