There are no good and easy methods for sharpening V's.....just patience ....patience....patience......do a lot of stropping before putting them to the stone....carefully strop the V at the confluence of the sides in the same manner that you strop a gouge....it is after all a very tiny gouge at that point.....get a magnifying glass and inspect it thoroughly.....if there is the slightest evidence of a chip, you will have to sharpen ( or resharpen) on the stone of choice....do it slowly and observe continually....sorry, there just is no easy method

re: follow up; in regard to sharpening problems, my main problem is in sharpening v gouges, i seem to make them worse after i sharpen then does any one have a good and easy method for sharpening them..............Irwin
