Hi Alex;
Possibly "weighted slat" is only referring to the type of wood used, i.e.
one of the heavier weighing species of woods rather than a lighter species?
Most of what is mentioned from a "google" that I have seen is one
slat/paddle and a string/cord, but the book American Folk Toys shows a Bull
Roarer consisting of a slat/paddle and a wooden handle along with the
string/cord attached to a wire swivel located at the end on the handle.
