Hi Sylda, thanks for looking at my bark carvings and the rest of my stuff.
yes it seems I've been bitten hard by the carving bug. just can't get enough
of it. I get my bark from a nice guy named gary trapperman at wiktel.com he
has some nice bark and cheap too. $4 a pound (a pound is 2 or 3 decent pieces
depending on the size). optimal size is about 30" long by 4-5" wide by 3-4"
deep. bark is really nice stuff to work with. I highly reccomend giving it a
try.
As for the woodburning you talk about, I just purchased a decent
woodburning unit and would love to get more into burning. I will mostly use it to
detail my carvings but want to do some regular woodburnings too. I would like to
know where you get your designs for your burnings. Do you use patterns or do
it from pics or what. Can you give me any advice on patterns or wood burning.
I know the basics but would appreciate any tricks or tips you might know.
again thanks for taking a look at my stuff, glad you like it. I aim to please.
