Thank you Paul and to all our friends on the List for their encouraging
words. I have had some good luck with owls.  I hope to do a life size
Screech Owl during the coming year, but I have a lot on my to-do list at the
moment.

 Our church is undergoing major renovations and I am being given the
opportunity to carve the symbols of the four evangelists on two of the
side-front doors and scenes from the life of St. Elizabeth of Portugal on
the two center-front doors. We are awaiting the delivery of the wood panels
that has been delayed because of the demands for wood in Florida following
the hurricanes. At least that is the reason the architect gives for the
wait. This is my first opportunity to tackle a project of this size; so I
ask for your prayers. Thanks again for all the encouragement. John A

Congratulations!  What a joyous time for you and your carving activity.
I really liked all of the carvings but am somewhat prejudiced toward
owls.  I haven't attempted to carve an owl as yet but have wood burned
several owl projects.  Good going!  God's blessings!  Paul McCain,
