Sally,
Questions are allowed... especially since you, personally, have no advantage
this time <guess that's a clue right there ;-) >. You going for 2-0?

1. The curved piece is actually copper... right from the hardware store.

2. The copper passes through the wood part.

3. It is definitelt utilitarian.

This isn't a bonafide clue, but the gentleman that carved this also carved
the gavel.

Can we ask questions, Mike?...or, do we get an occasional clue?

If we can ask questions:

1. Is the circular piece (that is in the horizontal position)
something other than wood. It appears to be like a piece of copper.

2. Is the piece in question glued onto the back side or is suspended
through the center of the wood.

3. Is this a utilitarian object or decorative only.

Thanks
Sally
