I would like to add my two cents to the plea the list is sending you to
stay active ...
 
I believe that anyone that posts to a digest as this at one time or
other will end up being 'blasted' by someone else on the list.   It is
both human nature and part of the open sharing of ideas and discussion
of our craft.   I know for myself that I have been blown out of the
water a few times, some of these I deserved and some came out of no
where.  When this has happened I usually pout for  a few days, sulk for
a few more, add a couple days for lurking, then I dust my ego off and
jump back into the fray.
 
Always I keep two main thoughts to feeling blasted.  First, it's a
feeling as I really can't tell from an e-mail exactly what the other
person was feeling when they posted .... I really don't know if they
were angry, outraged, mad, or just making a simple honest comment from
their point of view.  Second, the last time I heard from our illustrious
leader, Bill, there will over 600 subscribers to the list.  So a blast
from 1 member is balanced out by 599 others that thought what I had to
say was OK!  599 to 1,not bad odds!  Can you imagine any 600 people
getting along amiably in a room for more than 10 minutes before the
first fight breaks out :) and this list has held together very well for
more than eight years.
 
Besides, as a very early riser, around 4 AM, I really enjoy seeing your
posts waiting for me in my inbox.
