dear friends,
terry, carol, bill smith, bill judt, mike, tom loren and susan and folks.
wow thank you for your kindness and thoughtful replies.
to tell you the truth i was not looking forward to opening my mail today
but again the list is full of geniune thinkers, generous and wonderful
people. usually i do have a pretty hard skin, or crocodile hide, and usually
use the delete button. somehow this time, i felt a need to express honesty
because i feel to be alert even when we are grey and old is so essential,
and i try to push my energy to the top.
your comments are so rich that i feel humble yet so proud of you cause you
have hearts and think and do so much for so many.... including the lurkers
...your encouragement is great so i'll try to give more and not be a lurker
. often i do not comment much because you all know so much more than i do
and i learn so much from you. when i comment i guess is to share sometimes
the mistakes that have embedded in me a great lesson which then is my
commitment to share with you and students.
at present my teachings are on reaching people with left and right brain
problems in carving and art which has made me think even more deeply as some
people need to be needed, appreciated and recognized, and thinking upside
down, lateral and whatnot...
and to give myself a treat went to an art workshop on max beckmann....
which was mainly to express feelings, psychological reactions combined with
art...reactions to war, life and peace, .it has shown me that we are so
inhibited, that if anyone touches our work ... we feel as if our space is
being encrouched on....yet in their working with our carving masterpieces,
they can add what we cannot see, and if we try to see what they see, then we
are enriched ourselves.... and you all have proven that to me today... with
your wonderful emails.
i did not know i had so many friends, and you can be sure i shall treasure
your friendship always. forgive me all of you for doubting for a minute,
and not wanting to open my mail... you have restored my thoughts on human
nature.....
to think all this started because of carving, because of the delicate people
i have had to deal with, with trying to motivate and teach almost the
unteacheable students, in my inadequateness to find a solution, you are
helping tremendously and finging solutions..
THANKS........... THANKS
