Congratulations Teri! I will be getting my copy of the book in the next
couple of days. I'm looking forward to it.

As a perpetual subscriber to Better Homes and Garden's annual "Santa
Collection" (hardbound edition, not the magazine), I received it in
yesterday's mail and was pleased to see how well they presented our own
"Santa Carving Lady", Teri Embrey.
They did her proud as well she deserves to be presented to the public.
Congratulations, Teri and I wish you much success as knowledge of your
abilities reaches out to an ever expanding circle of admirers.
Thanks, Don. I was amazed when I saw the book, too - remember how
scary the interview/photoshoot was? (Or rather, how scary *I* was)
They took all my slobbery gobbledygook and turned it into something
pretty lovely. What an amazing honor to have been chosen for inclusion
- every article, every artist and collector are really something else.
And, of course, how lucky am I that "a guy in Nashville told us about
you" - thank you again, Don.
I do have copies of the book available through my website, and now that
its being distributed to all their "subscription" collectors, I'm
beginning to hear from people from all over. The greatest reward I
can receive as an artist is to know that what I do here in my little
Seattle cave is somehow reaching into people's lives; that they take the
time to stop and share with me what my guys mean to them...the memories
invoked, the gentle feelings they share with me....with ME! Yippety
skippety - who could ask for more?
Sorry I haven't been around much lately - seems I've had less and less
"computer time", working alot, devouring alot of books and music. All
bring inspiration, and oh how easy it is to drift through hours
(sometimes days) at a time, carving, humming, painting, and thinking.
Well, and then there are those times when I just have to get out my air
guitar and play along with the likes of Dave Matthews, Ani DiFranco or
Laura Love. :-)
