Hi Alex,

I think you are right on the money with your lesson plan. Remember the talk
that Ivan gives at the beginning of his classes, demonstrating the tools and
how they are used? That is what I use to start my classes also. I stold that
from Ivan. I'm thinking that is also what you have in mind for your number
1. Safety is very important before than begin. Sharpening is what I do next,
getting the student to the point of being able to sharpen a knife and gouge
is essential so they can go home and practice on that V-tool. Than your
number 4 as a beginning carving project is good. With only two days I don't
know if you are going to be able to get much further. I would touch on the
sharpening the first day and after they've had some success at carving spend
my time on sharpening the second day.

Do you have any plans for going back to Ivan's for class? Maybe I'll see you
there again?
