I agree.  If she wants to do faces, teach her faces.  particularly eyes.  I 
agree that safety, tools and sharpening should be first topics.  then perhaps 
facial demensions and features if you have time.  If faces are what she would 
like to do and has expressed that to you, I think thats what you should 
instruct her in.  its her dime.  she will be enthusiastic and determined, which is 
better than having a bored student on your hands..
