[Woodcarver] Painting question

the stop cuts after the boiled linseed oil is for a
landin pad as I call it and that is where the colors
will stop running if u stay just a little bit to the
left or right of it.

I hadn't thought of that. Does the linseed oil form
a'bridge' across stop cuts? Is that why you make them
after you make your cuts after you do the linseed oil?
