[Woodcarver] eggshell carving

I would never try to carve an eggshell with a knife... maybe a special file
if I was to do it without a power tool. I use an engraver... a small tool
similar to a dentist's drill that has different burrs for different
purposes. With the emu eggshells I use a diamond bit, and wear away through
the layers to get the picture I want. You can find examples of this on my
website at www.cccuts.com. I also carve your ordinary hen's eggshell...
after we've eaten what's inside! for that I use a tiny carbide cutting
burr. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!k

Again, I'd like to thank everyone for their help with my question about
antler carving. I do use a respirator mask for whatever carving I do, as a
precaution. I also work on glass, which releases silica into the air and
can cause lung disease. I had no idea that carving bone could cause white
lung though, so I will be doubly carefull about that. Thank you Gordon for
the website you sent me, it's much appreciated!

Have a good day!

Patricia
