Fellow Carvers,

Our list of teachers is expanding for the GOW. David Sanderson, who taught
woodburning at the Evart Roundup, has offered to teach Woodburning classes
at the GOW. The cost for this class in under $500. He said it would cost $3
to $4 and that would also cover material. He has some woodburners that you
could borrow but if you want to take the class and have a Woodburner please
bring it.

Big Dog is coming to the GOW but he is not bringing the whole store. He will
have some tables with tools and supplies available. If you already know what
you would like to buy, like a Woodburner, please call Big Dog at The
Woodcraft Shop (800-397-2278) so he can bring it with him.

Remember the evening tool swap. Bring your unused tools, books and supplies
to trade up to tools, books and supplies that you can use.

Whittling Contest, judged by Big Dog, is just a fun (tongue-in-cheek)
evening activity. We're all doing cane segments (Cost $1.50). There will be
a 2-3-hour time limit. We'll have an instructor category separate from the
others. Any method is acceptable, knife, chisel, power, dynamite and
woodburning with finishing either painted or unfinished. I don't envy Big
Dog's challenge of picking the winners.

CRaig Watson mentioned Alligator Tale Chili, for chili night at the GOW,
when I saw him at the Whillock Woodcarving Festival last month. His wife
Elsa and the alligator might talk him out of it but whatever he brings it is
going to be over the top.

Bring something for the potluck or throw $2 in the kitty. CRaig and Elsa's
Chili night is a $4 donation to cover CRaig's bail and other cost.

If you have any special needs please let me know.

For more GOW information please go to the bottom of my home page on my
website, link below, and click on the Gathering Of Woocarvers page. Everyone
one is invited for a fun time.
