My usually boring mail with nothing but ads and bills, since email, is
suddenly
like Christmas. there was this hefty box, and a new magazine, Woodworks and
Crafts, which I'd never seen before. And I don't know who sent it!
Dick Allen, who was also a youth growing up in Spearfish, said he was
sending me a couple of puzzles to ponder over. Well, I was so anxious to
see what was in this box I opened it in my suburban! Puzzles, and more
puzzles, carved cages, long ones, short ones, with things outside I'm
supposed to put in them! Right!
Golf balls, one cut ready for carving.( I 've never tried that. ) and to
put in these cages. I have carved a couple of cages with a the ball in
it, but I never tried to do it separately. do a cage, then put in a ball
that won't come out. Right? If they won't come out, how do they go
it? I'll be awake pondering on these. The thing with a spike in it, and
tees, and on top of all that, Blank blocks for cane segments,. There is
a basswood cage, with a walnut (I think) block in it. And there are
other basswood blocks of different shapes and sizes for anything I want to
carve. With the two Lon gave me I have a full winter of carving on just
those. Not counting some cypress knees given me.
Butch, you sent me that apron at a perfect time. The new magazine has
patterns, and new projects in it. My head is all aspin. I want to start
everything first. :-)
I am on an unbelievable high, and I don't drink! I'm high on great people,
generous people, and just plain neat woodcarving people!
Till you are all better paid, It thanks and huge HUGS!
