WOW, Peter, those carvings are all fabulous!!! It is not wonder you won the
ribbon, but they all deserve ribbons. Thank you for sharing with us. Can
you tell us what types of tools you use (hand, chisel, power), do you always
make wax models, what type of pattern do you use for the wax models, what
different woods were used in the carvings shown, what is your favorite wood
to use? I'm very much a novice and newcomer, but the reason I work with
wood is my great admiration of professionals like you and the wood God made
for us to use. One more question -- what is to approximate time does it
take to complete some of these carvings? How long to you anticipate it to
take this new huge undertaking of the skate boarder?
Thanks for the great pictures.

Hmmmmmmmm! It might be interesting to see what or who Bill Bauer thinks his
former supervisor looks like.
I got to thinking and looking and discovered I have a small woodburning
pattern of the eagle and shield. It is not as large as you want, but can be
enlarged on a copy machine. I'd be glad to share it if you want.
Clive, I love your definition of whittling and carving.
Joe, your definition of the difference between the two makes a lot of sense.
Mr. Chips, I'm sure the children that receive your "3 min. owls" are
thrilled with your "whittling". I would be.
Cynda, I viewed your complete site & it was great! You are very talented.
The first carving I did was wish soap stone with wood files. I was slow
going, but very rewarding. Some time I'll tell that story, but I'm too
tired tonight. I enjoyed your work very much and want to ask you some
questions, so I'll email you direct tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.
