Hello,
Is there a good reliable place to order butternut from that would ship to Alaska?
I have always wanted to try chip carving some. How is it for chip carving?
Thanks....
Steve

butternut is a beautiful wood, thou sometimes stringy. I personally found it easier to carve than basswood as long as your blades are kept sharp. takes detail well. if you want to look at my carving album. there is a religious medallion and also a green man and a moon carved from butternut.
