[Woodcarver] my straying from the subject of carving

Cynda, I appreciated you response to my enquiry. In fact, you touched
on something re: the second part of my enquiry. Your mother thought if
a child was praised they might quit trying. In that time frame, I
think it was normal to not praise a child too much for fear he/she
might get a big head. I guess a parent needed to know just how much
praise each child needed to develop confidence without being
"over"confident.

Also, I related to your being raised in the country. My horse was my
best friend as was the case with most of us in my community.

Thanks for your thoughts and for taking time to write them to the list.

Hi all,
I see people leaving and I am concerned that I have strayed too far
from the subject of carving and have done some rambling in here. I
hope I am not the cause of their leaving. I was kindly reminded by one
person that I may have.
I apologize, if this is the case, and will try to remember to stick to
the subject, directly, of woodcarving. Don't hesitate to remind me
when I stray. I guess I was under the mistaken idea that my rambling
was, indirectly still connected to art, hense carving.
