The largest single commission I ever did (53' wooden boat) is moored in the
river at St. Marks Fla. ( just south of Tallahassee ) right now. It has been
directly in three hurricanes so far and fared very well, but I still get
nervous. The owner runs her as far up the river as he can and ties her to
about two dozen trees with very long spring lines. She is a testament to
West epoxy and the owner's nerves.
Best of luck to all in the path of this one and ones past, Phill

Louisiana is not in the path of Ivan the last time I looked. However, I
am in the direct path as of 6:00 tonight. We're 80 miles inland from
Panama City, Florida. Lord willing, the Gulf waters will be cooler than
the Caribbean and it will lessen in intensity before it gets here! And
if you nice Canadians would send a good cold front this way, we'd sure
appreciate it! Hurricanes don't like cold.
We're not planning on evacuating. This is where the panhandle of
Florida evacuates to during hurricanes. Since this is a small-sized
storm so far, maybe the winds will be lessened considerably before they
get here. Flooding is our major concern. It's still too early to tell
where it will hit. We've still got everything tied down from
preparation for Charley & Frances, so all we'll have to do is get the
dogs & cats inside, and draw lots of water in case the electricity is
off for awhile.
All carvings are inside, high and dry. :-)
All prayers are appreciated. You never know what one of these things
will do.

Hi all,
Watching the news, I'm wondering how many of you are in the possible
path
of Ivan? It is looking sooo bad. I have a very good virtual friend In
Louisana that I'm extremely concerned about.
I do hope all of you in danger evacuate.
I am praying for all affected by this and the last storms. And that
they
see that their animals are safe.
