Have the sharpest carving tools I have ever had including my carpenter chisels following Everett's sharpening DVD.
For my wood planes, I have started using David Charleworth's approach and system. He has a VHS tape available from Lie-Nielsen Toolworks,Inc. Man, what a difference. His sharpening and set up system added a lot to my knowledge about working with hand planes and made them a joy to use.

Hi Tom,
I too am a fan of Everett's methods and Lie-Nielsen planes. Using these planes is a joy compared to the noise and dust of machinery. I use water stones to maintain the edges on the plane irons as per Rob Cosman's DVDs. Rob is the Canadian distributor of LN tools and a great source of knowhow in use and care of hand tools. I've heard him mention Mr. Charlesworth's books often, as a matter of fact Rob included a sharpening trick (credited to Charlesworth) on his latest DVD involving a micro back bevel. However I haven't gotten around to getting Charlesworth's book or the video. What does he do different?
