Dave,
Boy, do I want to see picture of that when you're done! You had a great
start on it at Honesdale, be patient.
I'm finishing up "The Delicate Cut" #3, and getting ready to start #4. I
now have mixed feelings about carving copies of my stuff. This one was a
big hit (I'm keeping the original) and the income has financed a couple
woodcarving trips and woodcarving toys, but I'm anxious to start another
project that's going to challenge me. With all the figure carving I was
exposed to at the Conference, I've been eyeballing this huge chunk of
butternut with thoughts of carving another nude. At the Woodcarver's
Conference I finally gave my "I Love Books" figure a face. This is a
combination of two patterns that Joe You, a CCA member from California, was
kind enough to send me. Mine is a combo of both patterns with a personal
tweak or two. After that, I've finished a couple woodspirits, a couple N.A.
Flutes, and a couple small Adirondack hermits. Besides carving, I'm getting
ready for our MVAWA October show in Albany, NY. I won't have anything
worthy of competition this year, but it'll still be a great time with
woodcarvers.
Keep on Carvin'
