Finished up my chicago scales carving and my projects from NEWR, gnome house
with Mike bloomquist and indian bust with Chris howard. had just enough time
to get ready for my first showing tomorrow at the county fair. In the last
week have finished 4 more gnome houses, cottonwood bark wizard and indian,
couple small cottonwood bark items also. Finished 2 small heart spoons, 1 stork
spoon and a penguin i had banging round my toolbox for the longest time.
Whew.........can I take a break now? No, got to go to the show tomorrow and carve
all day for the public, working on an irish themed gnome village in cottonwood
bark. Then can i take a break? No cause i'm backing up on my commissions.
Thank God there is no deadline for any of them, just like to stay current.
Have to paint a portrait of a friends house, Have 2 address signs(reliefs) to do,
also have to do a greyhound relief and a couple of bark houses, thats in
addition to my own things which I never seem to plan, they just happen. Have a
halloween Jack o lantern relief to do, then there's christmas orders for all
kinds of scrollsawn ornaments. And just to save some dough, I have lots of
christmas presents to make for friends and family also. Alright alright, no break
for me till after christmas. I also have a nice big slab of paduak that i've
been dying to dig my chisel into. Aren't you so sorry you asked "whatcha
carvin"?
I also happened to find a great supplier for cotton wood bark who shipped me
a few boxes full for a very reasonable price. If anyone wants his name
contact me off-list.
