The lake is beautiful. I visited Finland some years ago and really enjoyed your country. Unfortunately I didn't get to Saimaa Lake.

  good question Terry,

the answer is no. but as you know finland is called the land of the 10000 lakes. in reality we have 188000 to be more accurate.
the lakes we were cruising on are mostly interconnecting ones or can be reached by boat true rivers and sluises. if you want you can go and cross finland completely just by using its waterways all the way to the sea. the ship i was on was the biggest possible in finland to be able to do so, any bigger and it would have stopped moving. lol, sometimes when crossing a river we only had 1 meter or 3 feet to spare and that is very little. if you want you can go to google and check my region out one time , you will be impressed .

go to google and type under images SAIMAA LAKE FINLAND .
the 5th picture has a map of the route i did.
  check out the views to.
  enjoy

Hi Harry, I thought cruises were on the ocean or at least on water. Did
your ship have wheels? I know, bad joke.
