Harry.....purchase a small round wire brush that you would use in a power drill....preferably with some bronze wire in it but not necessary....then power brush the blades...WEAR GLASSES...if you have some metal cleaning paste, that could help...i have done this on several of my "Old Timer" knives that i pick up from antiques shops....it doesnt hurt the blades at all....hope this helps
