  My grandson when he was three came in one day to visit.  e aksed me if I knew girafes, and I siad yes, I knew of them.  He then exclaimed with bright shiny eyes, "Isn't God wonderful, Grandma?  They run and they don't even tipover!"  

  A bit off topic, but perhaps people did not see the ownder of your carving!

    I had the same kind of problem.  When  I carved a Giraffe people would say, "Nice looking dog."  I stopped carving giraffes.   Rip
