HI Merrilee, don't know what type of wood the turtle was. The main body
was uncarved and was natural as is. The turtle came from Gerald who
teaches the turtles at Evart. The feet etc. were indeed add ons but were
blended to the body rally well.

Keep your sanity these first couple weeks of school!!! I'm already
ducking and making myself scarce !!!!

Thanks for sharing Doug!  In the Livonia show the 2nd(?)picture was a 
turtle.  Do you know what kind of wood that was and were the feet and
head 
add ons or part of the orginal piece?  That is a great turtle!  There
was 
one other I liked but now I can't remember what it was! :) Merrilee
