[Woodcarver] antique saw & rosewood help

i absolutely love this list.  It is way better than going to a library for 
woodworkers.
I have an antique hand saw thta has some rust on the blade and i would like 
to paint a picture on the blade.  Can anyone tell me how to clean it up and 
seal it so I can paint on it with oil paint.  I was thinking of using sos 
pads but don't know.  any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS.. thanks for the info on the rosewood.  I can't wait to let my customer 
know the info I received.  I printed it out and will have it waiting at the 
store for him when he comes back on Tuesday.  Thanks for helping Ace be a 
helpful hardware place.  :)
