Right on the money Dave with casein coming from milk.

Adhesive materials > Natural adhesives > Casein glue
This product is made by dissolving casein, a protein obtained from milk, in
an aqueous alkaline solvent. The degree and type of alkali influences
product behaviour. In wood bonding, casein glues generally are superior to
true animal glues in moisture resistance and aging characteristics.

Casein is also added to some paint to improve adhesive and water-proof
qualities.
