I charge the same.

I charge for materials, including cutting things out on the bandsaw. I
show them
how to sharpen the tools but they do it under supervision in the
beginning with
repeat sessions as necessary.

I live in an almost gated community. We have a website at
www.arrowheadbeach.org
If you go there, scroll down to Woodcarving. There you will find the
entire
course that I teach. That course material has been used for the past
couple of
years. The graduates of the first year (4 ladies) and the second year
(a man and
wife) are now the core of a woodcarving club. They are all members of
our property
owners association. The current students are the son of one of the
woodcarving
club members (age 14) and a man (not a member of our property owners
association).
This area is strictly agricultural and there is basically nothing
anywhere around
here of a "cultural" nature, which is why I started this. I moved 750
miles south
to get to here about 4 years ago, having been a member of a woodcarving
club there
and missed it.
Happiness is a tall boat and breeze to fill her sails
Have a good day
