A short time ago I was contacted by an older carver who has a large collection of Chip Chats that he wants to sell to someone who will use them.  I think he has all of the issues since 1985 to about now - 110 issues - plus around 8 other carving magazines that he will sell for $50 plus shipping.  If you are interested you may contact him (K.
