[Woodcarver] Clutter and creativity...

Hi all,

We've been doing a bit of confessing about our lifestyles & cleaning
habits. And yes, it's no secret that I'm "not" a domestic engineer.
My dear David fits thats title very well. LOL If he could only learn
that not everything goes into the microwave on the HI setting and you
can "smell" when it's done. I'm not saying anything though. At least
it's food.

As for a pecking order, I wear the label of the farm mechanic. People
that drop-in have found me on my back on the barn floor fixing the
tractor or tearing a weedeater apart. Now that raises issues when you
are in the middle of writing an article, which translates to photo
shoot, and you have grease under your fingernails. Or you have
scratches because you "hate" to wear gloves when working on machinery.
I like to get an article completely written with the same appearing
hands. I'm one of those people that notice when someone has a bandage
on in one photo and it's not there in the next. I like to be
consistent with the photographs.

Now then, I like a "clutter-free" environment to create in. When my
room is sorted and organized, I can sit down and begin. It may be a
total disaster when I complete the article and that is O.K. I'll
straighten it up when the time is right and that is when another
project is budding in the mind. It's like:

1. a thought starts to bud and it's real. It's a doable thing.
2. the "spark" glows and grows
3. get my room sorted/ organized for action
4. go into project/creativity mode
5. the bud becomes a blossom
6. Project completed

While in this state of mind, if someone opens the door and sees me put
up a hand or shake my head "no" it means my brain is at the 5-star
state and "thou shalt not interrupt." LOL I cannot take a chance on
losing the thought that is trying to manifest. Not being rude, it's
just the way it is.

AND at any time throughout this process you can see me go "ballistic"
by saying, "the tractor is making a strange noise."

Quirky? Maybe... but that's how it is in this home.
