[Woodcarver] glue wood to glass

I think you are on the right track with the silicone.  I have used  silicone 
to glue glass and wood and glass and metal together many times, and  have 
always had good luck.  The GE brand silicone is available in smaller  tubes and 
has always worked for me.  I woud say go for it!  Sounds  like it will be 
beautiful.
