[Woodcarver] Robert Crumb

Richard Crumb, a relative of Robert's, took some wood carving classes from
me for a few sessions and brought in some of Robert's originals. Quite
apart for the subject matter, they are amazing for their fluid lines and
depth of detail.
Robert's son does similar kinds of drawings, though not quite as refined, I
think, as his father. The family story is amazing as they both could be
characters from their own cartoons.
Rich is a nice guy who has a light side as well. I was demonstration the
use of shoe polish as an antiquing medium. "As long as that polish is
handy, do you mind if I polish my shoes with it?" Without waiting for an
answer he promptly did so.
